Department of Health & HSE Launch COVID-19 Tracker App
With 500,000 downloads since it went live, the Covid-19 tracker app will help identify close contacts of people who test positive for the disease.
The aim of the is to reduce the time it takes to trace close contacts from days to hours. The app works by identifying those who have been in contact within 2 meters of a confirmed case for 15 minutes or more.
While health officials are looking to get around a 60% uptake of the app among the target population, they say that any level of uptake will be useful. The app is now available to download. https://lnkd.in/euv3Vw4
