New Code of Practice for the Remediation of Fire Safety Defects Released

Following on from the recommendations contained in the reported titled “Defects in Apartments – Report of the Working Group to Examine Defects in Housing” (published in July 2022), The Government of Ireland have developed & produced a new Code of Practice for the Remediation of Fire Safety Defects.

These were developed in the context of Section 18A of the Fire Services Acts 1981 – 2003 and apply to purpose-built apartment buildings including duplex, built specifically between 1991 – 2013.
