Safety Eyewear Standard Updated After More Than 20 Years: What This Means for Employers

For over two decades, EN 166:2001 has been the recognised benchmark for workplace eye protection across Europe. However, as workplaces, technologies, and workforce requirements have evolved, a new standard has now taken its place. EN ISO 16321-1:2025 is the latest standard for occupational eye and face protection, introducing enhanced requirements designed to improve safety, comfort, and wearer compliance.
