Trant O’Meara Group are looking for a Health and Safety Officer to join our expanding team.
The role is based in Cashel, Co. Tipperary (close to Junction 8 on M8). We’re looking for an enthusiastic, career driven person who is passionate about Health & Safety and capable of managing our Health & Safety Management system across multiple sites.
The Role:
- Ensure compliance with current legal requirements and promote a positive health & safety culture across all sites.
- Monitor and enforce the implementation of our Health & Safety Management System.
- Preparation and revision of risk assessments, method statements, operating procedures, toolbox talks etc.
- Provide advice, guidance, and instruction in all health & safety matters to management and employees (including sub-contractors where appropriate).
- Report and investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring any corrective actions. are implemented without delay.
- Delivering Health & Safety induction for new employees or sub-contractors.
- Maintenance of ISO 45001 Safety Management System.
- Monitor legislative updates, ensuring necessary changes are applied promptly.
- Maintain & update training logs and book appropriate training courses as required.
- Maintain & update plant and machinery logs and book equipment testing as required.
- Manage PPE and ensure all personnel are equipped with site requirements.
- Role shall be 75% office based and 25% across a number of sites.
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate should have 3+ Health & Safety experience in the construction, manufacturing, or utilities industry.
- Able to manage Health and Safety on-site using their own initiative within the scope of the management system
- Excellent IT Skills.
- Health & Safety Degree or Higher Diploma essential.
- Excellent communication, leadership, training, and presentation skills including reporting to Company Directors.
